Are you scared of putting on weight during the Holidays?

Are you addicted to sugar? It is in so many products, cereal, ketchup, canned foods … The list goes on.

Have you seen Fed UP? Check out the two minute trailer.

I have a 5 DAY sugar cleanse. The average weight loss is 4-5 pounds in 5 days. It will take you from being a sluggish sugar burner to a vibrant healthy fat burner.  I have coached many through the 5 day Reset and beyond. THE PROGRAM WORKS!

If you are in Fat burning mode:

Sleep soundly through the night with no night sweats. (Menopausal women as well, decreased night sweats!)

Hunger will be at a minimum. You will have a feeling of emptiness not irritability, urgency, low blood sugar or a feeling of fogginess. You will be in a balanced state.

Mood will be stable. You will feel in control with more self confidence.

Energy will be consistent and abundant . You will develop a feeling of Lightness.

Cravings will be almost non-existent. You will be amazed that you can pass up on snacks that would have taken you down in the past.

Bonus Round…You will be losing Fat including that stubborn fat around the middle.

The BIG QUESTION! How do I become a FAT BURNER?

Start with the 5 day RESET. It takes 5 days to change from a sugar burner to a fat burner! You can totally change your life in 5 days. I will  support you along the way.

Would you like to get clean from your Thanksgiving Feast and set yourself up for a NO CRAVINGS Holiday season? The Holidays are a time of overeating and putting on weight. Yes, there is a chocolate shake in the box!

From one of my Fit and Fabulous gals! “I finished my 5 days on Reset yesterday. I thought it was going to be so much more difficult then it was and in fact it wasn’t difficult at all. My craving for sugar has subsided and I have never felt so good and proud of the 5 day accomplishment I have endured. Thank you Mary Kiningham for the guidance and the guidance as well as suggestions to keep going down this path of Swedish Fish free way of living”

Dr. Christiane Northrup describes the experience this way:

“I encourage you to eat in ways that will promote long-term health benefits. If you start eating healthier today, it’s likely you’ll be rewarded with weight-loss in five to ten days. After that, all you have to do is modify your lifestyle to maintain steady blood sugar. Here’s the best part: You can lose fat effectively while feeling great in the process. Keep your blood sugar stable and you’ll experience more energy; ability to sustain exercise; clearing of brain fog; ability to build muscle; less hunger—ability to control portion sizes and cravings; fewer PMS symptoms; better looking skin; deeper, more restful sleep; stable moods and more optimism; and clear eyes without puffiness or dark circles.”*

Who doesn’t want that???

Sneakers are in!

Hair, Make-up and Fashion!  I did a post on make-up, hair and now fashion.

I finally feel really comfortable in my own skin. I am finding clothes that feel good and I am comfortable wearing them . Did you know? Sneakers are in!  Is that the best news ever? Here is the latest video.

I talked about Madame Chic by Jennifer Scott in the video. Jennifer loves to wear dresses and an apron if she is making dinner or cleaning the kitchen. She also loves her ballet flats. She never even mentions sneakers and I never wore a pair of ballet flats. The point is she has found what she loves and I have found what works best for me.

Snacking is SO not Chic!

I snack everyday. How about you? I actually text a Fit and Fabulous group everyday around 3:30 to have a snack and take their supplements. (only the best supplements of course.)

I am reading a new book. I found Jennifer L Scott of The Daily Connoisseur on youtube. I became obsessed. I bought her book Lessons from Madame Chic 20 Stylish Secrets I learned while living in Paris.  It arrived in the mail and I open up the book to find an adorable 5×7 book. I am savoring it. It is all apart of a Fit and Fabulous lifestyle!

Part 1 Diet and Exercise. (“MAKE DINING WELL A PRIORITY”)

Part 2 Style and Beauty. (Jennifer Loves An Apron.) (Who doesn’t?)

Part 3 How to Live Well. (“CLUTTER IS SO NOT CHIC.”)  Jennifer is also a fan of the LIFE CHANGING MAGIC OF TIDYING UP by Marie Kondo.

The first chapter of MADAME CHIC, Snacking is So not Chic.

I agree, sitting down on the sofa, eating potato chips and watching TV is SO not chic. I do better especially in the afternoon when I have a snack. Here is my favorite snack. I try to sit down and enjoy it instead of shoving it in my mouth as I go out the door. I think the point is for me, slow down, take a moment and savor what I am eating. I not only enjoy it more, I noticed that I am eating less and feel more satisfied. AND bonus round  less bloat!

I love reading lifestyle books. I love when people have their rules that they live by. It is always inspiring and motivating for me to do things a little differently and little better. You don’t have to do things exactly their way, tweak it to create a wonderful life for yourself and your family.

Let me know what if this resonates with you. I love to hear from you.

Mary

I have been BENCHED!

It is time to rest, which is not an easy thing for me to do. I love working out with my group. I love how I feel when I workout. Doing pushups, mountain climbers and burpees is  all very empowering.

Sometimes your body tells you to slow down and take care of yourself. My body probably has been telling me that for awhile but I don’t like to hear it.

This weekend went spent hours in the car and my back seized up so now I really need to rest, ice and some foam rolling.  Movement is good but I can’t push it to the pain level. I tend to push through the pain as an athlete you learn to do that. Right? I don’t need to anymore. The goal is to be healthy, fit and feeling good.

So for now I have been benched.

Sometimes you just need to sit on a swing.

Sometimes you just need to sit on a swing.

Actually, I can move as I want as long as it doesn’t cause pain. Movement is good, pain causes inflammation. It is especially important to be taking my supplements now. They will help reduce the inflammation in my body.

How do you do with taking time off from working out? Does it make you cranky, irritable or are you happy to have a break? I would love to hear from you.

Take away…be nice to yourself!

Love,

Mary

What supplements do you take?

I have been getting asked about the supplements that I take. FIRST, let me tell you why I take them. Dr. Christiane Northrup told me too! These are the supplements that she list in all of her books. Her latest book Goddesses Never Age, they are included in something you do everyday. If you want to be a person that gets older but doesn’t age I suggest you get on her regimen. She has an amazing 14 day Goddesses Never Age Program to get you started.

I did not need to do any research nor do I have the background to research them. I certainly know that Dr. Northrup knows her stuff.  If they are good enough for her, they are good enough for me.

Some of my clients say they are too expensive. Would you rather spend half the price and receive very little nutritional support? Or invest in your health and make it a priority? I decided that there is nothing more important than your health. I could go off and write about my son Thomas who spent the first 13 months of his life in the hospital and came home on a ventilator. One sentence explains enough. Health is a priority for me and my family.

So I created my own AM and PM health pack. So convenient.

Here is a video from the company that describes the Quality Guaranteed.

As I am writing this, I think wow, that seems over the top. You know, it is very doable, takes 10 seconds to take your vitamins. I feel great for the most part, I get up early and workout hard three times a week, moved 5 yards of mulch this weekend, and I plan on getting better.

Fit and Fabulous…Aging Optional!

Full disclosure here. I love the products so much I decided to sell them. If you are interested in the supplements click here. If you are not in the US you can click on the link on the top right hand corner of my website that says change countries. Contact me and I can get you the best price.

Do you need to contact me? I also love hearing from you.

Menopausal Belly???

“If you heard of menopausal belly, or wondered why it’s so commonplace to misplace your cell phone and keys when you hit midlife, let go of the idea that the problem is your hormones or “early old-timer’s disease.” Don’t think that way or talk that way. It isn’t your hormones, or early dementia, or a natural part of midlife that’s got your belly sticking out and your brain muddled. It’s what you are eating. The culprit is probably grains.” Dr. Christiane Northrup, Goddesses Never Age

So what do you think about that? My belly is certainly bigger, even though I work out and eat well most of the time.

I think it is super important to keep your blood sugar stable, get off the sugar and grains. I have reduced both but over the winter but the grains have started creeping back in.

I am going grain free for two weeks and see how I feel. I will probably continue past that but as you know, I don’t want  to be overly strict. It doesn’t work well for me. Actually, it makes me crazy,” no elimination diet” for me.

Yesterday, Easter Sunday was a FUN sugar day. Sunday, is a “day off” and it is beginning to feel like I don’t really want it but I do it anyway. Tom and I have an ice cream sundae every Sunday. I will stop that for two weeks as well.

If grain free feels to extreme to you. It is a great time for the gluten free 5 day Reset program to get you back on track. It will change you from a sluggish sugar burner to a vibrant energetic fat burner!

So important to take a high quality supplements. I have the inside scoop on amazing Ageless Goddess’ supplement pac. On your way to fabulous, vibrant and healthy! I can customize a energizing pac for you here. #fitandfabulous #agelessgoddesses

Let me know if you are interested in going grain free. Always great to do it with a group. I sent a text to Ivone and Karin last night and they are in as well. Keeps us all committed!

That is it for now, let me know what you think.

Love,

Mary

Homemade Crackers!

Watch out Ritz! This is what happens when you become a health coach…You make crackers!

My good friend Jessica Ruth Shepard HHC sent me the recipe. So easy and they were pretty good for the first time. A little thick but still delicious with a piece of goat cheese on top. I will roll them out a little more the next time. It was so homey to take out and use the rolling pin:)

Thomas and I had them for snack and supplement time. A perfect snack, grain free, low-glycemic and full of fiber. I used pumpkin seed and sunflower seed flour instead of almond flour. Throw your seeds or nuts into the vitamix and you create flour. Pretty amazing!

Here is the recipe from Jess.

Gluten-Free Thyme and Rosemary Crackers

Prep time: 10 minutes

Total time: 25 minutes
Makes about 20 crackers
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups blanched almond flour (occasionally it’s from almond’s I’ve sprouted and blanched myself….and sometimes not  : )
  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seed (i usually grind mine fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary + 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg (preferably free-range + local and/or organic)
  • 2 teaspoons purified water
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350. In a small bowl, lightly whisk the oil, egg and water to combine. In a larger bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients into a uniform dry mixture.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir well to combine. Once the dough comes together, use your clean hands to mix well and ensure a uniform mixture.
Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Peel off the top sheet of parchment paper and place the bottom sheet with dough onto baking sheet.
Cut into 2-inch squares and bake 12-15 minutes until lightly golden around the edges. Let cool at least 15 minutes before serving. Store in the refrigerator up to one week, or at room temperature up to two days.
(Extra notes):
if you live in a dry climate you will need the added water. If you’re in a more humid climate, you may not need to add the 2 teaspoons of water. Thin dough (1/8 inch) makes crispier crackers; thicker dough (1/4 inch) makes softer, more chewy crackers.
  • I used rosemary and thyme here, but two tablespoons of any combination of fresh finely chopped herbs can be used or even adding currants, cinnamon works well!!crackers

What do you do when cold and flu season hits?

This time of years there are all sorts of ads encouraging everyone to get a flu shot. What if everyone was encouraged to eat their fruits and vegetables, take a daily walk no matter what the weather is…this is why I have George the dog:) We are out everyday rain or shine.  Have you thought about getting to bed on time to get 7-8 hours of sleep every night? Have you given yourself permission to take an epsom salt bath?

Has anyone suggested you take the best supplements in my opinion on the planet every day twice a day? I am here to make that suggestion to you. I have been taking great supplements everyday twice a day for almost eight years now. I can’t remember the last time I had the flu. I must admit to an occasional cold but short lived.

Here is a quick video for your consideration.
