I have cut back on fruit the past couple of years because of the sugar content. No longer! The key in all of this is to enjoy moderation.
I was on Instagram and came across Anthony William the Medical Medium’s post about grapes. Amazing how good there are for you! “Grapes have been called the “queen of fruits” due to being one of the most nutritious and medicinal foods available since ancient times.”
This morning I made a Mango Smoothie.
According to The Medical Medium, ‘Mangos are one of the most popular and nutritionally rich fruits in the world and are often referred to as “The King of the Fruits”. Mangos are an amazing source of vitamins A, C, E, and B-complex as well as health promoting flavonoids such as beta-carotene and alpha-carotene. Mangos are a powerful anti-cancer food and are specifically known to help prevent lung, breast, colon, prostate, blood, and oral cancers. ”

I have been dealing with numbness around my left knee because my spine is not perfect. I am a very active person and I want to keep it that way. I also teach others to do the same. As many of you know, I went in for a back tune up. I have been dealing with back issues for most of my life which I am not really going to go into here. I went to The Integrative Wellness Center in Belmar and have been working with Dr. Kyle Klim who I like very much.
On Monday Dr. Phil Pritting was there. I first went to the wellness center last year because I found out that Dr. Pritting was a Certified Foundation Training Instructor.
Foundation Training has helped my back more than anything.
Here is the latest for me and you from Dr. Pritting. Follow him on Instagram @DoctorBoombox. A very powerful 3 minutes. I am sorry Dr. Phil is not really in the video but you will hear his soothing voice. Check out my cool socks!
Thanks to Dr. Kyle Klim for taking the video. He is a Chiropractor for pre, peri, postnatal and pediatric wellness, He is also a Craniosacral Therapist and a doula, Integrative Wellness Group Belmar, NJ. AND he works on me!
I am so grateful to have Kyle and Phil in my life!
I have two weddings and a shower to attend to in the next few months. I am struggling with what to wear. I like to buy pieces that I love and can wear over and over again. I really want to be comfortable and feel like myself.
I pride myself on being Fit and Fabulous. I struggle with the fabulous piece and posting about it. My sister and my friends will tell me to wear form fitting clothes because I am fit and fabulous. There is a part of me that thinks who am I to say that! I am a few pounds heavier than I would like to be. I am a bit thicker around the middle than I was. ALL of that. I also tend to wear loose fitting clothes.
I decided I am going to embrace who I am and not worry about it.
Minimalism Day 6.
Clothes! Day 6 is about enjoying your clothes about paring down your wardrobe. My wardrobe is very streamlined. I am trying my best to buy what I love and to be able to wear the pieces to different occasions. A pair of Black Oxfords are coming tomorrow. Thanks Zappos! Details to follow!
Here is my Sunday church outfit.
I am proud of myself to feel confident enough to wear Tretorns to church!
My morning starts with plugging in the coffee pot. I usually have it all set up the night before. I look at it like the oxygen mask on the airplane. Take care of myself first! I love my little Farberware pot because it makes the coffee very hot. (Sometimes, I use a French press.) I take out the vita-mix and blend up the hot organic coffee with the oils. I add a tablespoon of coconut oil and ghee combo to my coffee. I grab my Ipad, sit down on the sofa , check my email, Facebook and Instagram. I have about 15 minutes before I need to get up and make smoothies and get Thomas’ breakfast.
Note to self…The experts say not to start that way, checking your email and social media because you will get sidetracked unto someone’s else agenda.
I send Tom off to his day program. I get myself ready to head out to my workouts. The one thing I do consistently which is very helpful. I say a prayer in my car on the way to the workout. I ask God to surround me in Divine Love and allow me to do the best I can to encourage and inspire the women at my workouts. A nice morning ritual.
I am going to see if the Library have THE MORNING MIRACLE by Hal Elrod. I know I can do better!
Martha Stewart advises, “don’t leave the house with an unmade bed.”
How many times did your Mom tell you to make your bed? How many times did you tell your kids to make their bed?
Making your bed can set you up for success in your day. You start your day off accomplishing a task.
Your bed room feels and looks less cluttered when your bed is made.
A made bed brings peace.
Your bed is where you sleep and restore for the next day. You deserve every night to be peaceful and comforting.
I like a duvet without a top sheet. It only takes a minute to make the bed and straighten the pillows. I got rid of the dust ruffle. George the dog liked to lay up against it. It was always hairy and dirty. One less thing to take care of.
A peaceful bed.
Making your bed is a great tip to reduce your cortisol levels, bring peace and it allows your body to calm down and release the excess weight. Amazing right?
Do you need a jumpstart to feeling your best? Check out my 7 Day..Feel Fabulous Program. We have a great community which brings immunity and more fun with friends!
What does a clean home have to do with being Fit and Fabulous? I have been reading about cleaning schedules, decluttering, and sparking joy all at the same time. I feel so much better when my house is in order inside and out! When it is not I feel cranky, agitated and a bit overwhelmed.
I have been working on a schedule that works for me. I don’t want to spend too much time everyday cleaning. 1/2 hour tops. It is good to step away from the computer and move. No one bothers me when I am doing chores.
Back to Fit and Fabulous…I know when I am peaceful, calm and happy I eat less. I start to let a few pounds drop as well. This winter I was holding on to the weight. I know being cranky and agitated increases your cortisol levels and tells your body to hold on to the FAT! It is so great when it all becomes an easy process where you don’t think about it.
I joined Andreea Fegan’s month of Minimalism Challenge and her Simple, Healthy, Decluttered Living public Facebook group. I ask myself why am I spending time doing this? Taking pictures, posting, and encouraging others to join the group. It brings me joy, happiness AND it is fun! Today, I posted about what the best mop is for hard wood floors and I got an answer. So great!
A Clean kitchen window with no curtains. Let the outside come inside.
How do you bring peace and calm into your life?
It is not just about a clean home. It is important to feed your body the right food. Do you need a jump start to releasing Fat?
Elaine Milner, 79 came to my outdoor workouts about 3 months ago. She felt she was beginning to lose her balance and flexibility. Her daughter Jennifer encouraged Elaine to try my program.
