I love books about simplicity and making your like easier. These books are usually small and cute which makes me even more attracted to them.
It is important to me to be healthy and fit. I know that is when people look their best! I love how the women look after they finish when of my outdoor workouts. Happy, healthy and roses on their cheeks! All natural! Their hair is a mess and no make-up. Simplicity!
One more thing that I need to share! Dominique talks about buying quality and only what you love.
I needed to replace my old worn out Coach wallet. I loved it, it was small and cute but had gotten stretched out over the years. My credit cards were falling out. I have a larger Coach wallet but it is really too big for more purse and I don’t like to carry a heavy bag. I decided to buy a small beautiful Coach wallet that I will LOVE for years! It will be a safe vessel for my money. No more credit cards slipping out.

First off it is always about HAIR!. 2 years ago I decided to stop highlighting my hair and go grey. I blogged about it. I joined a silver hair group. I interview others about going grey. My hair is dark with out much grey. Yesterday, I decided that I needed a little sunshine on my head and had my hair highlighted. I will need to resign from my silver hair group.
On to Amy Feeling Fabulous. Amy joined our 7 Days…Feel Fabulous Program. She was our A student. It began as A+ but she had a run in with a Justin’s Chocolate peanut butter treat and caved. Only, for the moment. She was back at it the next day!
She said that SHMEC is a great gift. She checks in daily to see if something is off. What did she do the day before?

Let’s start with the SHMEC check in. SLEEP, HUNGER, MOOD, ENERGY, CRAVINGS. My SHMEC is really pretty fabulous. My mood is off but I don’t think that is food related. I completed 30 days of NO GLUTEN, SUGAR or ALCOHOL. Since then, I have been very mindful not to have sugar or gluten. I am having one glass of red wine with my dinner.
Sounds great, Right?
I haven’t lost any weight and the goal was to feel better which I do. I am so grateful! I sleep through the night most nights which is truly amazing. My hot flashes are just about gone and no more burning mouth. My stomach is so much better. So long bloat! All the symptoms I wanted to eliminate with my 30 days.
During that time and since, I have been trying new grain free recipes. A lot of nuts and coconut oil which are great for you but high in calories. I know it was important at the time to try a different way of eating.
Now is the time to start tracking my food again. I know when I track my food I do better and I don’t overeat. I think twice about popping leftovers into my mouth. I won’t do it forever. I will see where it takes me. My goal is to lose 6 pounds by Easter. I have 6 weeks or so. I use My Fitness Pal app on my phone.

It was a little concerning and hard to post. I am 62 and can do kick ass Burpees. I feel great and I have tons of energy. When I saw my face in the video yesterday, to be honest it set me back a bit.
I am in a great time of my life. I created this blog a few years ago and I have people who don’t know me following me. I have women who are between 40 and 79 that get up on a Saturday morning, 23 degrees and windy to workout with me. I have people who join my nutritional program and give up grains, sugar and alcohol to feel better. I recommend the best supplements and they take them.
I have a wonderful supportive family.
I am very grateful for all of it. So what are a few wrinkles and aged spots? Embrace where you are in your life! I tell myself I am a natural beauty. I am going with that.

I posted in the 7 Days…Feel Fabulous Group about the importance of drinking water. It is such a simple thing to do. It is easy, just set the intention.
Note to self. Drink half your body weight in water. If you weigh 140 lbs you need to be drinking 70 oz of water daily. I know when I drink that amount I feel better.
Amy who is in the group posted that she drinks 6- 12 oz glasses a day. She puts 6 pennies in a pile and every time she drinks 12 oz she moves a penny and creates another pile. Great idea Amy! Look what I did today. Of course, a straw always adds to the Fun!

I am in charge of the food in my house. I shop, cook and serve the food. There is a lot of power in that. As you know, I have basically gone no gluten, no sugar and now one glass of wine. My family is mostly gluten and sugar free.
This morning I made Thomas his shake along with smoked salmon, goat cheese, ghee on the rosemary blender bread. He ate the whole thing. I could give him a bowl of cereal and he would eat that too. The smoked salmon is a much better choice for him. Thomas has had so many medical issues in his life. His health and well being is very important to me. He takes the best supplements on the planet as well.

I slept through the night last night. What a blessing!
Yesterday, I went out to lunch with my sisters, Mom and Dad. We are celebrating Mom’s birthday which is Saturday. We are having a dinner then. Yesterday was just a sneak preview. Coming off my 30 Days of no gluten, sugar, alcohol I have decided to be very mindful of what I am eating and drinking.
My family all had wine with lunch and dessert. I had a wonderful time. I had a club soda with lemon and lime and coffee with no dessert. It didn’t bother me at all. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. It feels like a HUGE Break through!
Last night with dinner, I enjoyed my glass of wine. AND I slept through the night. I know keeping in Balance is Key!

A few years ago, I would tell friends that I have lost the feeling of coziness in my life. I really wasn’t sure what that meant or what to do about it. I had lost the joy of doing simple things.

I love the book. There was one paragraph that really popped out at me.
A wonderful Book by Pia Edberg.
“The joy in the simple things, such as making a home-cooked meal, cleaning the house, planting our own herbs, or inviting someone over for tea has been removed because we perceive them as difficult and time-consuming. We need to pause once in a while, embrace the calm, and find joy in the small details, even the task that seem so mundane.”
I started to read the book at the end of my 30 days no gluten, no sugar, no alcohol. Perfect timing. I figured out my next step.
My goal now is to slow down, be mindful and enjoy! Embrace the Hygge!
Day 18! I am feeling so much better about all of this. Thank God!
The past 8 months, I have increased the healthy fat in my diet. FYI, I had a physical last week and blood work. My numbers are better than they were last year! My total cholesterol is about the same. My HDL and LDL ratio is below average risk! I am proud to say my Vitamin D level is 60!
What I am doing works for me and I think it will work for you as well. More about that later on. Launching an exciting new program.
I wanted to write about portion control and my new love of wide mouth BALL jars! Increasing the fat in your diet also increases the calories if you are not careful. Yes, calories do count! I have started to divide my food into the jars. It is perfect when you want to grab a quick snack or a meal for that matter.
This morning, I made coconut banana pumpkin puree and sent it with Thomas for a healthy snack. I divided the rest into perfect portion control jars. It just makes me happy to open up my refrigerator to see all of those jars filled with nutritious delicious food!

I know facing 30 days of no gluten, sugar and alcohol can be overwhelming and seems impossible. I have created a 7 day program with my friend Chef Ivone Ventura of Healthy Sage. For now during the 30 days of No gluten, sugar, alcohol it is important to eat 4-5 times a day to keep your blood sugar balanced and your hormones. After the 30 days, I will see how it feels to take it down to three meals a day. I want to keep everything steady especially in the afternoon. My meals are higher in protein and healthy fats so I think the transition to 3 meals will be fine. Just not right now. The point is pay attention to how you are feeling. Everyone is different.
The difficult time for me is when I go to make dinner and I am not having a glass of wine. The afternoon snack helps and I try and lay down on the floor for 20 minutes in the afternoon. Balance is the key.
Here is my recipe for Nut Fudge. It is so easy to make. Nut Fudge is a wonderful go to snack. It is very dense and lots of calories so please consider portion size.
It is not too late to join in … Gluten, sugar and alcohol free for 30 days! So much easier with friends! Dr. Northrup says we will feel changes quickly. Balanced hormones are key to fabulous health!
