I am not a big shopper or makeup person. I try my best to buy what I truly love and let the rest go.

I like to give and receive functional gifts. Black Friday has now become a long weekend rolled into Cyber Monday. I did shop for myself. I love Boom by Cindy Joseph. I bought the Boomstick Trio.  Color, Glimmer and Glow will be in my makeup kit! The Boomstick Trio creates the look of happiness and I don’t need a mirror to apply. They are made from wonderful ingredients like beeswax and honey. I love how the products smell. The color stick is fantastic. I use it as a blush, eye shadow and lip color. The Glo stick is a moisturizer that you can use anytime anywhere. The Glimmer stick is a push for me. It feels a bit fancy. I thought I would step it up for the Holidays.

Here is a video that I created in 2015 with my friend Wendy. I am not a makeup person. It has over 16,000 views about me wearing makeup!

I also like to buy myself beeswax candles from Vermont HoneyLights. Vermont HoneyLights is a small mother daughter business in Bristol, Vermont.  Shawna and Bonita are passionate about making beeswax candles. They are concerned about the survival of  honey bees. They know the importance of using natural ingredients and supporting  hardworking beekeepers. It is my once a year purchase to celebrate the Year. I love beeswax candles. They smell amazing, they give off negative ions which make you feel good. These are the only candles that I use. If someone gives me a candle, I usually re-gift them. Just this morning, a friend gave me her own homemade candle. I told her no thanks, that I only use beeswax candles. She is a wonderful friend that I can say things like that to her without hurting her feelings. She will give it to someone who will love it.

I have to begin to shop for my family’s Christmas gifts. I have one great idea in mind, but I don’t want to give it away just yet. I am buying from a company where 50% of their profits go to buy a particular product for people in need. It will make a great gift!

I am focusing on keeping things simple by shopping local and supporting small businesses this Holiday Season.

Boom! My makeup video!

I created this video in 2015 about makeup. It is my most watched video! I create videos about diet, exercise, a healthy lifestyle and I still get new comments on this video. Me… makeup of all things:) A few things have changed in the past two years. I have gone grey and my hair is longer!  I still use my Boom products everyday and I love them. Thank you Cindy Joseph!

I love fashion on some level. Feeling good and therefore looking good is important. I really love clothes that are comfortable, #1 and stylish #2! I always enjoy seeing what Ellen Degeneres is wearing. She certainly looks put together and comfortable.

I feel good in my clothes because I am in shape. I have a strong core and my clothes fit. Fitness is my fashion statement.

Thank goodness because here is my closet. Not much in there. It is amazing that I look as put together as I do:)

Socks can make the outfit. I love cool socks. You can have a pair of jeans or cozy black wool pants on with fun socks and you have an outfit!

One last tip. I use my BOOM products by Cindy Joseph everyday. They make me feel good and put together. Here is my make up demo. One of my most popular videos. Does my audience care more about makeup than burpees? Maybe, it is easier.

“Ladies, look at this face and look at all of your faces, the face of leadership,” Fiorina says. “This is the face of a 61-year-old woman. I am proud of every year and every wrinkle.”

This is perfect. I don’t know anything about Carly Fiorina or her politics. My sister mention this quote to me Tuesday morning on my 61st birthday and I am so grateful for women in my life that have inspired me to embrace my time of life and all of its blessings.

It is such a great attitude to embrace your wrinkles and your age spots. Be proud of what you have accomplished and the wonderful adventures to come. I am inspired by the work of Christiane Northrup. Her book Goddesses Never Age is full of wonderful insights to live your life to the fullest. Dr. Northrup talks about not telling your age. I understand that.

Your health and vitality is so important at any age and especially as you get older. It is all about how you feel. My intention is to inspire women to  gain strength and flexibility at any age. You can feel strong, healthy, and full of energy.  Sometimes, it proves a point to tell my age.

This passed year I have also been inspired by Cindy Joseph, the model, founder of the Pro-Age revolution. She is  all about embracing your age and letting your silver hair shine. She has inspired me to grow out my blonde highlights and let the silver come through. I am halfway there and so far so good.  I love her make up skin care line Boom. I love the simplicity, one product, one color for lips, blush,and eye shadow. Here is my make-up demo  with Boom:)

I just got the latest JCREW catalog. Lauren Hutton looks amazing wrinkles and all~ I think I will buy what she is wearing:)

Silver is the new blonde!

Silver is the new blonde!

I am letting my hair color grow out. I am tired of putting chemicals on my head. I have loved my blonde highlights but I am feeling like it is time to let them go.  We will see how it goes. By the way, ( Debbie at Imagine in Shrewsbury is my hair dresser.) It is important to have a good hair cut.

Beauty radiates  from happy, healthy, and fit people. I don’t think you need blonde highlights to make you feel better. I will find out. I am embracing where I am in my life, wrinkles, age spots and silver highlights.

Of course, I am stopping women wherever I go and I am talking Hair.

Do you tell your age?

As many of you know I have been a member of Team Northrup for 8 years now. Following and being involved with the work of Dr. Northrup and Kate Northrup has been life changing! It is so wonderful to hang out with happy healthy people. You do that and you become one! It is amazing how that works.

Part of my work with Team Northrup and our product partner Usana Health science has been the inspiration behind my blog. My intention is to empower and inspire women to be Fit and Fabulous…Aging Optional. I am here to pass on my own inspiration and what influences me.

Last week it was Boom Sticks by Cindy Joseph which I love and so does my Mom. This week, Dr. Northrup has come out with her new book. Goddesses Never Age. I just got it yesterday and can’t wait to dive right in.

“Celebrate your age, embrace your crow’s feet!”

I am excited about Aging Well. I love what I do! I love having my outdoor workouts, where the average age is 56. (I have 2 forty year olds that change the stats a bit.) You get the point. I love coaching people to eat well, empowering them to make changes to look and feel their best.  There is no turning back!

Fit and Fabulous…Aging Optional.

I spend time reading and watching videos about aging well. Instead of embracing aging sucks, it is all downhill from here, it’s over…blah,blah,blah. Why go there?

Why not focus on living the best life that you can? Look and feel fabulous at any age! Celebrate your age, embrace your crow’s feet! How many smiles did it take to create them?

My mentor Dr. Christiane Northrup is coming out with her new book. Goddesses Never Age. I came across on FACEBOOK, Cindy Joseph and her product line BOOM. Cindy has created the Pro-Age revolution. She didn’t call it anti-aging or ageless. She called it Pro-Age. It is such a change of attitude and I love it! I have been watching her videos. You know her she is the older model with long beautiful gray hair. (She now has a perky short hair cut.) She has created a makeup line called Boom.

I have never been much of a makeup person. I really don’t know how to deal with it. I am not even comfortable with a tube of lipstick. I do like tinted lip gloss that comes with a stick. It is so easy to put it on. I watched her video, you slap it on, rub it in and look amazing! She has three different Boom Sticks. Watch her video she can explain it better than me. I will let you know when they come. Cindy has many videos about her Pro- Age Revolution. She just makes you happy to be of a “certain age.”
