Resistance

I am very resistant to travel. There is a part of me that thinks I would love to travel, go new places, see new things and meet new people. When the opportunity to go away comes up I always hope that we won’t have to go.  I love being home. We do have Netflix’s now!

How boring of a life would that be if all we did was stay home?

In the past, my husband would push me to go on vacation. Skiing in the Rockies, skiing in the Alps and a wonderful week in St. Barts,  were a couple of the highlights. Does that sound like something to avoid? Anxiety would always creep in and take over. Personally, I do not like uncomfortable feelings. But, what if I hadn’t gone? The trips were amazing, some of the best times in my life.

I am writing about this now because we are going away for ten days to sunny California. My husband is a track cyclist and we are off to the Master World’s in LA! There will be plenty of time to do fun things!

The anxiety has been creeping in. I want to do it differently. It is crazy what I do to myself.

A few Helpful Tips to keep the anxiety level down.

  • I have been meditating 20 minutes daily.
  • I stopped drinking wine for 7 days, completely off sugar and grains. I feel better, and more grounded.
  • My new mantra. “I am confident that I can handle any situation that comes my way.”

I have been dealing with people’s resistance while I have been marketing my 90 Fit and Fabulous Program. I don’t quite understand why people aren’t motivated to take better care of their health. They are highly motivated to lose weight to fit into a dress for a high school reunion or a family wedding. As soon as the event is over, they go back to their old habits.

Why not get in shape, eat well so you look and feel fabulous all of the time?

It feels like a great idea to me.

I would love to hear from you. What are you resistant to? How do you deal with your anxiety?  We all have our “stuff”. Right?
